Sitting Down.

In Graphic Design, My own Work, Paper Engineering on June 1, 2010 at 9:46 pm
An information graphic about myself. The data was collected on the day I was travelling from Newport back home to Prato allo Stelvio, Italy. I noted down all the different chairs, seats… I was sitting on and for how long.
The result was 24 hours, 3 countries, 747 minutes I was sitting on 29 different chairs. The final piece can be cut into pieces and arranged as a cardboard chair.

Origami Architecture

Origami Architecture

Origami is the art of folding paper. It always fascinates me how people are able to turn a single sheet of paper into a 3D structure.

The photograph on the top shows one of my attempts. It was used for a university project on stage design.

‘The Creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.’

BMoss is an international company that specialises in the design and production of paper and cardboard engineered products like products, direct mails, promotion…

The company’s work shows that there is no limit on what is possible with paper and there work is simply genial. The sort of company I would love to work for.

II – Coloured Note Pad

In Packaging, Paper Engineering, X-Magazine on December 3, 2008 at 9:31 pm

My second product for the “X” Magazine is a coloured note pad. It comes with a scissor which is hidden in the bottom box. Whatever the idea – big or small – a sheet of paper can be cut away.

This product is based on the art work of Jen Stark who by using coloured card creates fantastic sculptures.

Thanks to a tip I got my hands on this beautiful pop up book. Marion Bataille’s book about the alphabet contains clever and well made pop ups.

Can’t get enough? … more pop ups from David Carter or Mark Hiner.
