Si Scott

I first saw british Graphic designer Si Scott‘s work watching the BBC series ‘The Secret of Drawing’ and was absolutely amazed by his work.

Most of his type illustrations are handdrawn and then scanned into the computer.

In the title sequence Si Scott is shown doing the text illustration.

A character everyone loves

All Mordillo wanted was to create a caracter everyone would love. Well… I do. I’m a big fan of his humouros illustration with the big nose characters.

Argeninean illustrator Guillermo Mordillo was born in 1932 in Buenos Aires. Over the years Mordillo has lived and worked in Peru, in the United States, in France and in Spain. He has illustrated fairytale books for children, designed advertising campaigns, created cartoons, designed greeting cards and sketched humorous pictures.

The Summit Book

The Summit Book

Three years ago a graphic designer (thanks Sonja!) gave me a diary from the German Paperfabrik Scheufelen. Every year the company created a PhoeniXmotion Diary (and even won some prizes with it) for their clients, showing in a very original and useful way all their different print techniques (like embossing, lasercut, colour gold, machine varnish, fragrant varnish, perforation, hot foil…). My book is from 2005 and is all about climbing to the top and includes stickers, nice illustration, games… I love it!

Because the company was taken over in 2009 by the Finnish company Powerflute the last ever published PhoeniXmotion Diary is this year also available for purchase.

Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka is a illustrator and screen printer with refreshing love of nature and folklore. Being half Finish and half English she bases her work on the traditional Finish Folk Art and creates beautiful and colourful patterns.

Having spent her childhood summers in the nightless Lapland wilderness, the forests, lakes and wildlife of the region have formed and infused her work.

In 2006 Sanna’s work was spotted by the British group Keane which led to a remarkable collaboration on their second million selling album, Under the Iron Sea. Since this first commercial application, her talent has been in constant demand.
